November 20, 2015 – Nashville, TN – R40 Live, an extraordinary document of Rush’s career-spanning 40th anniversary tour, was released today. Rush recorded and filmed R40 Live over two sold-out shows at the Air Canada center in the band’s hometown of Toronto on June 17 and 19, 2015. The epic live shows by the Rock Hall of Famers were captured with 14 cameras, in order to give fans the best possible viewing experience. The band, comprised of bassist/keyboardist/lead singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer Neil Peart, undertook a 35-city tour this summer to celebrate their 40-plus years together. And the men who hold high places Must be the ones to start To mold a new reality Closer to the heart The AV Club reveals the next live clip from R40 Live with “Closer to the Heart” before release on November 20. “The concert film also includes what Lee refers to as a “pretty little number” off of the band’s A Farewell To Kings album, “Closer To The Heart.” This popular tune spurred fans to raise lighters and phones as Lifeson unplugs, plucking the opening strings on his acoustic guitar, with Lee singing the familiar lyrics before Peart makes it whole by adding his precise percussion.”
